There is a lovely campsite on the beach in Pacific Rim Park at Schooner Cove. In the summer it’s a wonderful place to watch the sun set and the moon rise.
Moraine Lake is nestled in the Valley of the Ten Peaks and is a lovely azure colour in the sunshine. The much photographed lake and valley was once featured on the Canadian 5 dollar bill.
The Courtenay River Lagoon offers a quiet meander along the waterfront with views of the mountains (obscured by clouds here) and the quiet waters of Georgia Straight.
